Today, I tried to do an assignment in Google Classroom but it was more tedious than I anticipated. First, I had to get the hang of how to sample music in a different matter than I’m used to. Then, I had to apply it on the song and work on it from there while following the video. So, I barely did a bit less than half of the assignment, which made me upset. That means that my goal for Thursday is to finish this assignment.

Last Friday, there was a substitute for my class and we had to go to the library due to the classroom being locked up. There wasn’t anything assigned to us except to hang out and advance on homework. So, I started working on my homework along with listening to music with my headphones. I didn’t converse with anyone as I kept to myself and just worked, and maybe watched one or two YouTube videos.

Today, there was a substitute in class, so I went to Google Classroom to check what I had to do. I basically just had to watch two videos, which didn’t take very long. So, I made a new mix in BandLab, which I enjoyed. After I finished, I just watched some videos on YouTube for fun.

Today, I tried something new on BandLab on my phone. However, I had multiple technical and/or internet problems, so it took a while to finish it. In the end, I barely finished creating some samples and mixing them in the end. Although, I am proud of myself accomplishing something new on my first try. After that, I relaxed a bit and started on a little bit of my history homework.

I didn’t have to do much today in class. I only needed to upload my music into a hard-rive so other people in my class could DJ with it. So, for the rest of class, I finished my notes from my previous class because I fell behind in that class. After I finished, I listened to music to familiarize myself more with music, plus it’s fun. Not to mention I also tried to do some of my homework.

Today, I couldn’t advance on anything in my class due to my computer and keyboard to not working. Luckily, for this week, I don’t need to create any more new music, but we are doing a podcast. Apparently, I have to get someone on Zoom or on my phone during the class period because I “need to reach out to people.” I hardly have any real connections so this will be a challenge. Since I couldn’t do anything in class, I watched some videos on YouTube and I continued my notes from another class.

Today I finished all of my five tracks that I needed to do and I’m so glad I finished. Honestly, I was afraid I wasn’t going to finish in time, but I did and I believe they sound at least descent. After that, I began a new track for fun, but just the very beginning. After that, I just listened to some songs in YouTube for entertainment, and maybe to see if I could mix any for DJing later on. Besides that, this was a nice Friday in my class.

Today, I finished the track that I created last Thursday. After that, I started with another track for my assignment. Honestly, I like to believe that I started good but it began to get complicated on how to find loops that match the beginning. So, I went to search some songs in YouTube to give me a bit of an idea of what I should look for. Now, the only thing I have to do is show my work to my teacher and on Thursday I’ll get started on the final track.

Today, I tried to get started on my work right away, but my mouse was out of battery. So, I had to wait a while for it charge and I was lucky that it didn’t take much more than ten minutes. After that, I immediately got started on a track for class. After I showed it to the teacher and had it fixed, I went to fix my mistakes from the track that I composed on Wednesday. Finally, at the end of class, I got started on another track that I will continue next Wednesday.

I was still panicking a bit from the project that was assigned to me two days ago. Still, I went into BandLab and I was able to create one new song. Apparently, the teacher gave me a goal to make 5 new songs by the end of next week, something I believe that I might be able to do. And when I mentioned my concerns to my teacher, he listened to me and gave me some advice. I’m still hesitant about putting my music truly out there, but I’ll at least consider it more.
